Every weekend throughout the boating season the river shannon becomes a meeting place, a playground, a holiday resort. For the fortunate who own a boat the river is more, its home. Every weekend we meet people like ourselves . Its a community all ready to help one and other, if need be. This site is simply to keep in touch when the winter comes, or when a question needs answering,or just to say " Hello".

If you could transplant Mt. Everest into the ocean at the deepest point, there would still be more than a mile of water above its peak.

Your Special Place?

Lough key has always been our favorite place to moor. I suppose its the feedom the kids have here. They can explore the forest , the tunnels, go for a cycle or climb a tree. What kid "our adult" doesent enjoy these things. I know its changed now, but it still lights up there eyes when we decide to head for lough key. The fishings not too bad either! Barley harbour is another if the weather is fine, as its a little bit tricky.
Have you got a "special place" you like to visit?
Let us know, and why?Post a comment, or on the notice board, or just email me and i will post it.And maybe we can all enjoy that special place.

Lough Ree Monster
Did you know we have our very own monster on Lough Ree.Yes there have been many sightings and strange goings on,out on our lough.Even three priests have sworn of there encounter with the Monster. That massive pike you just seen on your fish finder might not be a pike after all! So now that i have you shaking in your boots, look up the site, yes a site dedicated to the Beast..www.mysteryanimalsofireland.com/LRee.htm
